I would like to tell you about the mega-monsters that have developed in the last few hundred years that have life-spans far beyond our own.  They replicate, multiply, merge, and occasionally die and many of them currently survive through a parasitic relationship with human beings.  Sucking at the nipple of our needs and desires they become the purveyors of our satisfaction while destroying the biosphere upon which we all depend.  They have evolved very quickly and have surrounded and fenced us in, slowly dissolving our freedoms and strengths, extracting wealth at any price from all and especially the ignorant among us.  In just a few centuries, they have removed continuity from our cultures, replacing it with the temporary and disposable ? lifestyles with no history.  Our role with the mega-monsters is only degrees different than the role of cows penned in, shot up with hormones, genetically altered, pumped up, and milked dry.  We too, have become part of a complex biological factory for the extraction and concentration of wealth for the few from the earth.
Perspectives are things I collect and they help one to understand the world.  My understanding of the history of human beings and especially the changes I perceive in my world fill me with feelings of fear and anger at large collective processes I feel I have little or no influence in.  The idea of the mega-monsters helps me to create a substantive ?thing?  that I can grapple with, which allows me to conceptualize and transfer a perspective on it and bring it into the conceptualization of others.  I hypothesize that these mega-monsters have evolved the same way life evolves, and suggest that we perceive them as living entities and analogous to other living things.  The human beings who act as their figureheads are mere puppets in many of them.
